Constructing a home-made Turbocharger (1)

It already does some time that we saw like recycling and starting a Champion Engine (Part 1 and Part 2), so now we are going to construct a Turbocharger for the engine with home-made materials.

For that he does not know it, a Turbocharger is a set of helices that make use of the residual force of the gases of leakage to impel more air to the combustion camera, increasing the yield.

The turbocharger is done by home-made and recycled materials:

  • Sheet of Aluminum
  • Pipe of Galvanized
  • Roscada rod and nuts
  • Madeira
  • Insulating tape

Here we can see what would be the drawing of the project:

And here we have the Champion Engine that is the everlasting one:

The first thing that we did was to do a few small turbines with the aluminum sheet, and to enclose them to the rod roscada by means of the nuts, the aspect is more or less this:

Later we cut away a few hollow pieces of wood which outside diameter is more or less that of the pipe, so that there are no escapes between both parts of the turbocharger, and with the interior of the diameter of the rod, or, in his defect, of that of the piece that is placed inside the pipe.
After enclosing the pieces, fitting with tape and putting the second turbine, it is an aspect it is this:

And already presented inside the pipe, the aspect would be this:

I hope that you should like, one day of these brought the rest of the constucción over to you
